While fossil fuel companies feast on profits, our planet burns. Polluters must pay.
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres accused energy giants of ‘feasting on hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies and windfall profits while households’ budgets shrink and our planet burns.’ Guterres called on rich economies to hit oil and gas companies with new windfall taxes to provide help for countries suffering from climate change, and those struggling with soaring energy and food costs. He also said that we needed to hold fossil fuel companies and their enablers to account, including banks, private equity, asset managers, and other financial institutions that continue to invest and underwrite carbon pollution.

US to expand in-house solar panels production
Friday Sep 02, 2022
Friday Sep 02, 2022
First Solar will invest $1.2bn in a new factory in the United States. With this move, the big solar panel manufacturer will increase to four the number of its plants in America. President Joe Biden signed the energy and climate bill earlier this month. This law authorises hundreds of billions of dollars in federal tax credits, grants and loans in an effort to encourage companies and individuals to switch to renewable energy and electric cars, thereby fighting climate change. Save the planet - reduce meat and dairy
Friday Aug 19, 2022
Friday Aug 19, 2022
In theory, most of arable land should be used to grow wheat, corn, potatoes, amongst other agricultural products. But most of the agricultural land in England, round 85%, serves as pasture for grazing animals such as cows, or to grow food which is then given to livestock. It is an incredibly inefficient used of soil which should be used for food production for all of us rather than using the vast majority to feed ruminants, or pigs or chickens.
